This paper will be about prejudice, discrimination, violence and aggression. The purpose is to compare and contrast the aforementioned four words and to see how they affect society today. It will also reference the four theories that was used by Freud to define the different personality theories and there connection to violence and aggression.

Prejudice and discrimination are used interchangeable towards a group of people when describing a strong dislike for their physical features or race. There are many triggers to violence, such as living in poverty stricken overcrowded areas, frustration, alcohol drinking and drugs which cause aggressive incidents in and outside the home “(American Psychological Association, 2017).
Violence is an excessive use of force to hurt or even kill someone. Violence is also a form of intimidation that can be used to get people to do what you want. This form of aggression shows a strong hate or dislike towards an individual or group. People who have aggressive behaviors can be impulsive and even dangerous. Selfishness and influence are the same as being violently aggressive so long as you get what you want. (Bushman, 2014). People become aggressive to sustain wealth and position. For example, Donald Trump’s campaign antics during the presidential election. His aggressive behavior when speaking on certain topics influenced the audience to respond with violent aggression.
There is a common factor between prejudice and discrimination, which is they have to be directed at something or someone in order for it to be relevant. People can be prejudice and not outwardly show it, because it is a cognitive attitude, and discrimination is only based on behavior.
