I think it is important that you brought up how where we grow up and the people and environment we are surrounded by can have a huge influence on our initial ideas of prejudice, discrimination, and stereotypes. I had similar experiences as I grew up attending an elementary school that consisted of students who came from white middle-class families, however as our schools began to merge in middle school and high school they became quite diverse, therefore my perceptions began to change rapidly as I developed a better understanding of what these words meant, as well as how things such as discrimination, prejudice, and stereotypes can really affect people. Furthermore, as you mentioned, many people will say that they do not have any prejudices
