Even if they were wearing cameras all the time, the people they work for do not have to release the footage and keep their officer free from chargers. They could also say the camera broke while they were on duty. Also who says that they are committing these crimes, the only people who have witnessed it were victims who could have faked it. These so called crimes that the officers have committed are mostly always the same when victims explain what happened. It could also be a hate crime against cops, based on this quote, “More than 250,000 Americans over the age of 12 are victimized every year by hate criminals, according to a new government study that puts the number some 50,000 higher than the best earlier analyses,” (Potok). Cops aren’t the ones committing the hate crimes it is criminals, even though some consider cops criminals. There is also no way to know if a cop is bias and what he believes is right. Test could also be administered to test and see if there are any racist reactions. In an article,they explain that they used experiments to see if there was any bad blood. It says, “Three experiments supported the hypothesis that people are more willing to express attitudes that could be viewed as prejudiced when their past behavior has established their credentials as nonprejudiced persons,” (Miller). There are ways to try and prove if they are or if they are not biased. Many are already trying to figure where does this prejudice come from in these police departments. In this article they say, “Among other interesting findings, the researchers concluded that both selection and group socialization contribute to prejudice in the police; however, each phenomenon has distinct origins and effects,” (Gatto). These types of testing should always be going on for everyone who wants to enter the police force.These should be the type of precautions they should use to make sure none of these racist acts
