Amoxicillin Trihydrate Lab Report
Preparation of working standard solution in 0.1N Hydrochloric acid: Prepared 1 µg/ml, 2 µg/ml, 3 µg/ml, 4 µg/ml, 5 µg/ml, 6 µg/ml, 7 µg/ml, 8 µg/ml, 9 µg/ml, 10 µg/ml solution, take to from 100 µg/ml respectively 0.1ml, 0.2 ml, 0.3 ml, 0.4 ml, 0.5 ml, 0.6 ml, 0.7 ml, 0.8 ml, 0.9 ml, 1.0 ml than make up mark of 10ml volumetric flask with 0.1N HCl. The absorbances of the solutions were measured against 0.1N HCl as blank at 274 nm using UV spectrophotometer. The absorbance values were plotted against concentration (µg/ml) to obtain the standard calibration curve.
Preparation of stock for phosphate buffer Stock solution in phosphate buffer ph 6.8 : 10 mg of Amoxicillin was accurately weighed and transferred into 10 ml volumetric flask. It was dissolved and diluted to volume make up to mark with phosphate buffer 6.8 …show more content…
Ten tablets were accurately weighed and average weight of the tablets was determined, the tablets were a ground to a fine powder, and powder equivalent to 500 mg of amoxicillin and 40 mg of Pantoprazole were weighed separately, and dissolved in 0.1 N HCL and in phosphate buffer pH 6.8 respectively, the resultant solutions were sonicated for 15 min., filtered, suitably diluted and then analyzed spectrophotometrically at the λmax of 272 nm., for amoxicillin layer and 301 nm., for Pantoprazole
