Predicting Drivers'subjective Drowsiness

The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of behavioral measures for predicting drivers’ subjective drowsiness in order to develop an intelligent transportation system such as fuzzy logic for preventing any fatal traffic accidents by evaluation of the lack of driver’s arousal level. In this paper, behavioral measures, including, neck bending angle, back pressure, foot pressure, COP (center of pressure) movement on sitting surface, and tracking error in a driving simulator. Drowsy states were predicted by means of the multinomial logistic regression model where behavioral measures and subjective evaluation of drowsiness correspond to independent variables and a dependent variable, respectively.
