Predictability In Childcare

Finding appropriate childcare for a pre-school aged child is a daunting and time-consuming task for parents and caregivers. Worrying about the environment into which one is placing their infant is something that should not intrude on the decision making process. Unfortunately, there are plenty of stories regarding carless treatment of children in childcare centers in the media. These tragedies are continuously in the minds of those attempting to provide the best for the children under their care. Therefore, it is crucial for the Federal Government to create a national, federally funded childcare program available to all children under the age of six. Additionally, the childcare experience for the child, the parent and the ECEs involved will be professional, thorough, and comprehensively effective. However, achievement of such, nationally, is beyond the scope of privatized small-scale childcare operations. Consequently, the Federal Government ought to take on this ambitious project. Who else, but government institutions can provide for children under 6 years and the “predictable events that provide a foundation for the daily tasks in a child’s life?” (Gillespie 2). Predictability is a governmental mandate, as are affiliated services. Services closely aligned with childcare are numerous. “Medical home, mental health, socials services, and therapeutic interventions” (CDC) all fall under the governmental mandate requiring oversight, accountability, and supervision, at least at the provincial level.
