Pregnancy is a miracle of life and naturally everyone wants a healthy pregnancy. Prenatal care is important to a healthy pregnancy. Preconception checkups are also very important to having a healthy pregnancy. Early detection is important in the medical field, a preconception checkup is early detection for pregnancy. A preconception checkup can help you and your doctor detect any possible problems and prevent them. A preconception checkup is exactly what it sounds like; an appointment with your doctor before you conceive and become pregnant.

Information is an important part of any topic, but it is even more important for pregnancy. There are many things that can go wrong during pregnancy and a preconception checkup can help prevent these issues. Your health before and during pregnancy makes a difference for your unborn baby. The doctor might order other tests that they consider necessary. The doctor might also want to check and determine if the father to be is a carrier of certain inherited diseases.

The doctor might also examine the expectant father for sexually transmitted diseases. The doctor might order certain blood tests to determine if the father to be has an inactive sexually transmitted disease. The doctor will advise the father to be on how to best treat the disease before trying to conceive so the disease will be less likely to be passed to mother then the
