Precious is an American drama film that was directed by Lee Daniels in United state, and it was produced in 2009. The film running time is 110 minutes. And it is based on a novel called Push by Sapphire. Precious’s screenwriter is Geoffrey Fletcher, and the starring were Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey, Sherri Shepherd and Lenny Kravitz. The movie has won so many awards, such as the Audience Award, the Grand Jury Prize for best drama and Special Jury Prize for supporting actress Mo'Nique. There are similar movies of precious such as the color purple and what’s love got to do with it.

Precious and her mother lives on welfare and the mother force her family to pretend that the first child of precious is living with them and not with her grandmother so that she can get more from the welfare. Basically precious is living a miserable life that she really want to change, she imagine that she have the perfect life where she is a famous and have her perfect boyfriend that has a nice hair. The thing that hurt the most is that when precious imagine the perfect life but when she get beck to reality it’s so painful that it can’t be watched. Even with the misery that she is living in, precious have an ambitions that she can be better by studying and get her high school diploma, she also think that she can be a good mother for her two children unlike her mother. The thing is that while she is suffering and have no reason to live she is doing things in order to find reasons for her to keep living her life, she’s also trying to safe herself by entering the …show more content…
Also the bad parenting such as Mary (precious mother) leads to bad habits, for example when the mother forced precious to eat the food although precious clearly rejected by saying that she is not
