The Precaution Adoption Process Model (PAPM) is the theory least likely to be applied to any future work in my public health career. The PAPM is uses seven different stages for the purpose of changing an individual’s behavior such as smoking (Weinstein & Sandman, 2002). The use of the PAPM model has had minimal scientific evidence to support the seven stages an individual goes through to become consciously aware of the behavior and work toward different stages to change that behavior (Blalock, 2005; Weinstein, Lyon, Sandman, & Cuite, 1998).
