The Process of Effective Writing Green (2011) states that APA and good writing is a long term process (p.69). The writing process has always been difficult for me. My writing has improved with the help of my instructors, online resources, and the college writing center. According to Green (2011)... graduate assignments need to reflect the appropriate level of critical thinking relative to the degree.…

The prewriting strategy that I like most is a combination of brainstorming and listening. It's a combination because I will record my ideas (brainstorming) about what I will write about. Then listing to my brainstorm in a form of a recording, it comes a combination strategy. I find this combination of both strategies to work well for me. Being that English is my second langue, when I brainstorming my ideas onto a paper I get stuck trying to spell a word and losing my train of thought.…
I have always struggled with writing essays and they’ve never come easily to me. I used to sit in my room, in the middle of the night, just staring at a screen, for what would feel like hours. Wondering, “When am I going to finish this paper, or even, start it?” The writing process is lengthy and has many steps, such as reading, brainstorming, creating an outline and a rough draft, editing, and finally having a final draft. These steps can help anyone write a decent and fully developed paper.…
In the beginning, I looked at the different ways of preparing for a paper and one stuck out to me. I would write an outline of what I wanted to write about and then I would make sub-headings under each bulletin describing what each topic would talk about. I used this process more with my research papers than with the narrative essays because I could see what facts I needed to look up and which ones I already knew. For the non-research essays, I wrote the first sentence to every paragraph first. After that I would write an outline of what I wanted to talk about in each paragraph.…
Process Writing In the process of writing my project two essay, I used only one prewriting strategy which was the free write method. I used it one time and since I was interested in my topic I was able to generate my paper of that free write within hours of free writing. I chose that topic (track and field jargons) because it was something I have encountered before and I that made me know how the power of language can affect one if they are new to a community or organization. Track and field is a major sport in the united states, but many writers have not written articles about this topic.…
Going into college as a freshman, worrying on passing your classes, it probably didn 't occur to you how different your classes are from high school; at least not for me. Specifically speaking in your writing classes. This essay analyzes my perspective on the different aspects of high school and college writing. I, as a freshman, realized coming into college, is that something as simple as generating a topic-is completely different from how you would approach it in college. Everything I was taught about the ‘correct’ structures on making the perfect essay in high school, completely flipped in college.…
If I was writing a paper that required a specific number of paragraphs or pages I would typically plan my paper using the four square method. If I was writing an important paper I would write a rough draft, then as I was typing it I would revise it and fix any mistakes I found. One thing that remained consistent in my writing process, no matter the type of paper, is after I wrote the paper I would try to find more grade level appropriate words instead of the simple words I originally used. While writing essays for this class I came to find it is better to combine my writing processes to write the best possible essay I could. I found the best steps for me to take in writing my paper are to write my ideas down in some form.…
Before you even start writing you need to start with brainstorming first, then transitions, grammar, eliminating wordiness, and finally proofreading. Brainstorming is one of the most important things to do, because it is the first thing you do with an essay. With using brainstorming you do not have to write out a whole essay.…
The writing process is different and unique to all individuals; many people follow the ideal steps of prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing as opposed to others taking shortcuts, skipping steps, and going straight to editing. The writing process is the course one takes to get from prewriting to the publication of their essay; since everyone is a different, their writing process will also be different. For me, I believe that following the ideal writing process steps are a tremendous help to organizing my essay and spacing out the work throughout the time the assignment is assigned. To begin writing an essay I must first prewrite; to prewrite is to brainstorm ideas from the prompt by outlining, diagramming, clusterings, or…
