Pre-preschool Checklist

As a parent, one of the most exciting yet gut-wrenching thing you’ll ever face is your child

heading for preschool. As most of those who have already passed through this phase will agree,

you’ll become anxious, a little out-of-sorts, and you’ll frequently encounter thoughts like “did I

forget something?” or “I should’ve bought more t-shirts.” You’ll be finding yourself from store

to store looking for something you can’t really put your finger on. I’m sure that you might even

buy more than need to. This is common. It’s very understandable that you will be acting this

way. It’s a milestone for your kid. It’s where they will develop their emotions, their intelligence,

and how they deal with people. We must

They’ll know how to write their name and some other common words like

“Dad” or “cat”. Frequently showing them alphabet flash cards can greatly enhance the

development of such facet. Another thing that you can also do is to frequently sing the

ABC song with your child. Like mentioned earlier, pre-schoolers like to repeat activities

and these repetitions will greatly enhance their cognitive development.

6) Art materials – Coloring, drawing, and even scribbling are good ways to develop their

fine motor skills. Obviously, the school will provide the materials and the workshops,

but it is a good idea to have art materials at home. When your child gets home, he is

usually still so engrossed with school activities that he will be looking to do them again

at home. So, make sure to prepare plenty of art materials in your home.

These should be at the top of your list. As time passes, you will determine other purchases that

you need to make so that your child’s time in school will be a lot easier, fun, and worth the

buck. Make sure that you know what’s important and what’s not. Preschool is only 3 short
