Being a Pre-Major Studies student, I can say that I am not completely certain what I want to study or furthermore, what I want my career to be, but I am sure of one thing, and that is that I want a career that engages me in the international world one way or another. My professional goal when I graduate the university is to attend Law school. In there, I want to study international law to be able to develop the necessary skills to become an attorney that deals with international affairs like immigration law or international corporate law. Even though that is a long-term goal, I am very aware that I have to develop and even polish some of my current skills to get there.

Going back to the translation and interpretation course I am taking, this class really aids you in the development of this, because the course prepares you to be able to communicate to other people what a person that does not speak the language is saying. I am also trying to immerse myself in numerous groups or clubs around the university that will force me to get out of my comfort zone. For example, being a member of the National Honor Fraternity in Seattle University called Phi Sigma Pi, has allowed me to develop better communication skills with people because a membership in this fraternity requires you to be able to communicate an idea to the fraternity members since through communication and teamwork is the only way the fraternity will progress. Belonging to this group not only helps me strengthen my communication skills but also my leadership skills and the ability to work as a team efficiently with a group of people. When a problem arises, mediation skills are also required and that is something that Phi Sigma Pi is providing for me. When a new idea or rule is proposed, all the members vote on the passing of this rule or idea. When a problem arises because a member disagrees with something, it is crucially important

Someone once said, "Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret." This essentially means that discipline will be difficult to manage but it’s a finer choice than regretting your decisions later on. School can be difficult, but the pain of the self-command and devotion will get you much further in your education than lackadaisical and deprecate. It seems to me that future freshmen with a hard work ethic and commitment should attend Early College High School because it saves the student time, money and you provides a safe atmosphere with a supportive audience. Not only is Early College High School a free program…

Alternate Major A general curiosity of numerical calculations in the existence of matter is the major root-cause for majoring in Chemistry. In essence, a lack thereof of such curiosity fuels the desire to transition from Chemistry to another science-related fields. One popular change is from Chemistry to Biology. I personally think that changing my major to Biology will be the easy route to take because the comparison between the two illustrates a rather compelling idea of 39 credits to obtain a Bachelors in Science in Biology, as compared to the 48 credits required for a Bachelors in Chemistry.…

I have always known that I wanted to serve in the justice system, but my interest in law school truly began in high school with experiences such as my involvement in Big Brothers Big Sisters. As a Big Sister, I learned that there are many children in the world that need an advocate to give them a voice within the system. My interest in a legal career was further piqued during my attendance at Sunflower Girls State where I was able to attend a real trial with the District Attorney and participate in mock trials. Experiences such as these both inspired and encouraged me to set my goals towards law school.…
