But in order to become a professor, it consist of getting a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree. In Texas State I want to major in Math and minor in Spanish. In about five years after my bachelor’s degree, I want to get a Master’s degree also specializing in Math, therefore becoming a Math professor. Since the beginning of my freshman year of High School my mindset consisted of being in the top 10 percent and taking Pre-AP classes because I knew I wanted to go to college in the future. I knew taking Pre-AP classes would be a challenge for me, but it gave me the resources to become a better student in my academics. For example the teachers in Pre-AP expect more from their students and give out Home-work and projects and set deadlines when the assignments are due. This made me more responsible for my work and my grades. In addition Pre-AP classes for me created a competitive and inviting ambience, because most of my peers have the same mentality to go to college.
My first AP class I took was my sophomore year and I took Spanish IV AP. The class gave me a perspective on how an AP class works. It is almost the same as Pre-AP, but AP consists of more work. Spanish IV AP prepared me on my writing skills and the language. My junior year I took U.S. History and English III AP, Pre-Cal Pre- AP and Physics Pre-AP. With two AP classes,

“Can you repeat that?” seemed to be the only phrase anyone asked me. Despite English being my first language, I did not advance as quickly as others in speech and in reading. Because i did not practice pronunciation as a child, there is nobody to blame for my speech impediment except myself. Therefore, when presented the opportunity to take an AP English class in my junior year, I did not hesitate to accept - the only way for me to improve my English was to undergo an arduous class and practice.…

Starting towards the middle of freshman year in Honors Global History, I thought going into a higher history class was a good idea, so I decided to enroll in AP US History, which was one of the better decisions in my life. That class was a good experience so I wanted to take AP again in junior year. There are multiple benefits that drove me to make this decision; the first is content. In every single class in school (maybe except for math), I want to learn the most about that subject so AP would provide the huge benefit of having the most content so I would learn the most about the government and macroeconomics.…

No matter what field I chose to study in college, knowing how to read and write are pivotal to success. Beyond that I am honestly tired of letting each and every opportunity pass me by.
