These things seen as wrong would be best for society if they stayed out of the school place. “The elimination of the fear of God, symbolized by the Supreme courts actions in the matter of school prayer, led to a dramatic increase in crime, venereal disease, premarital sex, illiteracy, suicide, drug use, public corruption, and other social ills” (Brooks). Eliminating prayer from schools has eliminated “the fear of God.” This fear would cause people of religion to obey the rules because of the fear of their religious leader. Therefore, if public prayer was still allowed in schools it may decrease the raise in these actions taking place in the school systems.
A numerous amount of people believe that prayer should not be allowed in schools due to the fact that it may be offensive to other beliefs. This would be true if the people that did not believe in prayer were forced to pray. Public prayer in schools will be an option, not a requirement. Therefore, students will not be offended due to the fact they will not have to take place in something that will go against their own beliefs. This creates an environment for all cultures and everyone to have their own choice in how they practice their
