The Prairie Meadows Scholarship would help me pursue an education that would prepare me to succeed on any career path. I plan to go to DMACC and earn my Associates of Arts degree. I know this degree will be a good foundation when I decide what specific career I want to pursue. I know at this time that I’m interested in pursuing a career related to social issues in our world. I know that with any degree I will need the general classes offered in an AA degree. I am hoping while going to school for my AA degree at DMACC I will find my specific path for what I want to do for my future career. I know with any career, an AA degree will be needed. College is expensive and any financial assistance would help me be able to focus more on studying than the stress of a financial burden. I am hoping to work and pay for my college without taking out any student loans so this scholarship would be very much appreciated.

I’m caring and thoughtful and I enjoy helping people. I am very involved in the community through my church. I already make a difference in my community and will continue to do so as I start my career. I see the specific needs in my community and I do my best to be a part of the solution for those needs. I have volunteered multiple times for Meals of the Heartland. Last year as a part of a goal my youth group raised money to build water wells in Africa. I created t shirts to sell and hosted a bonfire, both in an effort to raise money. I am currently preparing to go on a missions trip to Haiti this summer with my youth group. My experiences and passion that I have gained during my High School years will carry on through my career and continue to make a difference in our world.
