Practicum students were also responsible to complete client "staffings", which consisted of a risk assessment, assessment of the patient's current functioning, and consultation with the medical staff on the inpatient unit, as well as individuals connected to the patient (e.g., family, guardians, case managers, doctors, etc.).
Since the inpatient unit was a locked-down facility, practicum students spent time on the floor interacting with clients, offering resources, providing crisis management and support, encouraging socialization with staff and peers (e.g., art, music, and board games), etc.
