Ethics My experience as a practicum intern has allowed me to exercises countless ethics outlined by the American Counseling Association. Throughout the practicum period, my site supervisor has given valuable advice to ensure compliance and safety for myself, and the clients. One of the first ethical issues I encountered at my practicum site was confidentiality. I had a client who was 18, and does not need to have her parents sign off on documents or updated about sessions. However, the setting of my practicum and the status of her placement require her parents to know about her progress.
