The ideas gave me a lot of guidance, which has made my experience as a practicum student easier to manage and understand. For example, the coping with pressures part of the text gave me tools that helped me manage school, personal life, job and practicum at the same time. Moreover, in the looking forward part of the text the book gave me a lot of options to help the transition from undergraduate to graduate (Chiaferi & Griffin, 1997). The other positive impact that the ideas had on me was that they prepared me for the practicum. Being aware that I need to be able to identify legal and ethical issues in a clinic setting is very important to understand. It is a good idea to let students know what is expected of them. Therefore, with that definition in mind it is clear that the ideas of dealing with pressures and looking ahead part of the book do not have much to do with multiculturalism. However, legal and ethical questions do have an impact on multiculturalism at the practicum site. We as practicum students need to be respectful of cultures, in fact, we are legally obligated to, which is why this part of the text is impactful. Diversity in the work setting was very influential on my thinking of multiculturalism. Diversity in the work setting lets students know that diversity and different cultures will be a common occurrence in the professional world. Therefore, the diversity part of the text is directly connected to multiculturalism, in fact it promotes it, and argues that multiculturalism is an important component of a work setting. Simply put, multiculturalism is necessary for a work setting to flourish and be
