Great Spiritual leadership is about blessing, inspiring, motivating, and developing other great leaders who are willing to make the necessary sacrifices for the greater good of other people. When that becomes the focus, being a great spiritual leader will definitely make a difference in the lives of those who are in that leaders’ sphere of influence. McNeal defines self-awareness as, “knowing who you are, knowing your motives for doing what you do, knowing what makes you tick and what ticks you off, knowing how you come across to others, and maintaining your emotional, physical, and spiritual condition.” Self-awareness is at the core of successfully developing strength in all of the other six elements of greatness. Great leader know themselves better than they know anyone else. Lack of self-awareness is dangerous. It puts leaders in a position of using other people to satisfy their own personal needs, and they become so involved in self that little or no attention is given to the care of others. Great spiritual leaders are able to manage themselves better than they manage other people and projects. The ability to manage themselves causes them to also take control of self-development. Life is filled with many ups and downs so leaders must manage their time, activities, and
