Everyone knows someone that has had cancer. It was painful for not just the patient, but the family. The chemotherapy is very extensive, and wears the person out. At the end of the day, they just want to sleep. A vegan-based diet helps many people with cancer get through the chemotherapies and it actually helps get rid of the cancer. Sometimes with the right balance of the diet and exercise, the sign of the tumor will fully disappear. With this small amount of information, it would be assumed more people would switch their diet for eliminating cancer. This healthy-eating diet requires 25% more fruit and vegetables and 56% less meat. Shifting diets to plant-based will cut to 6 to 10 percent by 2050, while eliminating 29 to 70 percent of greenhouse gas. This study also shows that health care cost will go down by two-thirds (Mooney). The amount of money we use to treat diseases are 75% of the nation’s $2 trillion health care bill in 2012. “Obesity is the number 1 cause of military ineligibility and according to Mission: Readiness, a group of 300 retired military generals and admirals, it cost the Pentagon about $1 billion annually” (Atcheson). “Meat consumption has dropped 12 percent in the past five years” (Templeton). One of the biggest worries is not enough protein, soy and hemp are proteins and include amino acids. “ ‘Potato chips, Oreos and Twinkies are all Vegan,’ Dr. Gregar” (Templeton).
