Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible in 1953. He wrote it because of his experienced an event of the government accusing him of being a communist without strong or hardly any evidence. The events in his life were being compared to the witch trials, the accusations of a witch without barely any evidence. He also wrote of the political debate in his time period. Miller connects the political debate to the accusations of witches and witchcraft.. For Miller he was sentenced thirty days in jail and witches were beat or hang without strong evidence to either cases. In addition, Miller related both events as a universal message.
