American citizens perceive the president of the United States as dominant and powerful figure. His job is to please millions of Americans, along with his oval office. Just like anything, the president is as powerful as you allow him to be. This is why it’s important for current and future presidents to master the power of persuasion. Persuasion is a very important tool and asset to have while running a country. You need people on your side to support you and stand behind your agenda. If this is accomplished, a long presidency will be ahead.

Obama makes sure to include American citizens in his agenda. He doesn’t approach us as an unrealistic savior, but he lets us know that he wants change and he needs our help. This bring togetherness and not an overpowering one-man show who controls everything.
Obama has to use his power of persuasion because Congress and the White House don’t see eye to eye with agreements. This is where persuasion comes. According to Benac, Obama is increasingly relying on his powers of persuasion to cajole people and organizations to help tackle some of the country's big problems —voluntarily (Benac, 2014). On a scale of 1 to 10 I will grade Obama an eight on his persuasion. I give him this grade because he is a very influential and active president.
