In the TED Talk called “The Power of Introverts,” Susan Cain brings the attention to introverts and claims that the world should change to better suit not only extroverts, but introverts as well. Susan Cain states that she could tell of “all the times that I got the message that somehow my quiet and introverted style of being was not necessarily the right way to go” (Cain). Cain is a self-proclaiming introvert. She was a pushed into becoming a Wall Street lawyer and negotiations consultant from all the time that people told her that she “should be trying to pass as more of an extrovert” (Cain). Since then she has published the book called The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. From this Inc. Magazine named Susan Cain “one of the world’s top 50 Leadership and Management Experts” (Media). The TED Talk she gave smashed records with over 12 million views. In Cain’s talk, she uses all four of the classical persuasive appeals: kairos, logos, ethos, and pathos. How she uses all four appeals creates a very persuasive talk overall.

Susan Cain gave this TED Talk because the world’s everyday systems are not set up for introverts and introverts are undervalued. She gave this talk because the world is starting to praise the extroverts, while they view introverts as problem cases. To fix this Cain gives three step to help the introverts in the world out in this struggle. She is a self-proclaiming introvert that has worked in an office from many years allowing people to be more susceptible to what she has to say.
