The pigs overworking the animals shows power is corrupt because the pigs took advantage of the animal’s trust in them and made them believe they need to do all of the work on the farm. The pigs came up with the commandments of Animalism, but by the end of the story they broke all of the commandments. For example in Animal Farm the pigs started to kill other animals and act like humans even though the commandments said not to. “The Seven Commandments:
Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. No animal shall wear clothes. No animal shall sleep in a bed. No animal shall drink alcohol. No animal shall kill any other animal. All animals are equal.” This quote is important because it shows the rules that the pigs set for themselves and the other animals to follow, but failed to do so. The pigs broke The Seven Commandments of Animalism when they started to sleep in beds, wear clothes, befriend humans, drink alcohol, and kill other animals.
