The structures of handling power can change people's image and perspectives. During the Lord of the Flies by William Golding tells the story of boys who get lost on a deserted island. Thus trying to survive without adult supervision and putting together a civil group. Then they boys end up going different way because of different perspectives of Ralph and Jack. But going in depth of the story’s theme, it’s about the controlling and usage of power. How can the person using power change or affect themselves? From the view of the people in the articles and between Ralph and Jack, they display how the use of their capability of being in control can turn a person into a savage, getting or receiving the choice to do whatever they want, and having a sense of feeling unstoppable and more confident. …show more content…
The overwhelming euphoria from power transforms a civilized person into a savage. The power given to the person will increase the chances of being unstoppable and being feared.For example, the article Power without Status and Stanford Prison both mention “how power shapes business relationships.” and “human nature is not totally under control of what we like to to think.” For the first quote in LOFT it represents on how the power between Ralph and Jack towards the boys trust. Along with the second quote, showing the bond of the trust towards the group of boys for Ralph and Jack.In the same way, both of the quotes are representing the over use of given power. The Power without Status quote states that people with the given power depends on the use of it and the control to others. In addition, the Stanford Prison quote, expresses that human nature won’t be completely under control as we like to think it really
