Power: the ability to influence or manipulate others. When one looks at it from this perspective, power can be either something one would want or want to eliminate. Within Veronica Roth’s novel, Divergent, the author demonstrates what power is and what happens when it is used for evil. Roth suggests that power is often fuelled by fear alone; displayed in multiple characters throughout the novel.
