Power Energy Disadvantages

People may suggest that everyday energy used is from power plants, which stores energy to power a whole city. It is usually thought of renewable resources, such as water, the sun, wind, etc., to be nothing but ordinary resources. Without individuals really thinking about it, they can use the everyday resources to power energy through many types of technologies used today. People have created machinery that can use the renewable resources for energy. There may be disadvantages, but current energy sources can make up for it. There are many different types of technologies used to power energy by using renewable resources that can make the world a better place.
To begin, one of the first renewable resources that is converted into electricity is

A renewable energy source that uses the water is hydro-power. Hydro-power means using water to make electricity. Water is the most well-known renewable source in the U.S. today. Hydroelectric power plants use dams or rivers to hold water. Water flows through a little gate that runs through a spinning turbine, activating a generator that accounts for the electricity. A hydroelectric power plant does not need a big dam. They can run off of small canals that run the water into a turbine. Small canals or rivers, can usually create enough electricity to power a house, farm, or ranch. Yet, according to the National Hydro-power Association, “Hydroelectricity accounts for about 7% of the electricity used by a nation.” (Frequently Asked Questions). The reason for the low use of electricity production is due to the disadvantages of hydropower. Sadly, there are many disadvantages, such as the disturbance of the habitat. Carbon dioxide and methane are produced when the decomposition of the trees and plants take place from the area where the dam is filled with water. Fish can die due to build of nitrogen in the dam, which could wipe out a whole species of fish. In a way hydro-power can help an environment, yet it does more damage than …show more content…
Petroleum is the highest energy source used, from the Energy and Mineral Engineering department of Penn State University, through the U.S. Yes the renewable energy sources are very safe for the environment, petroleum is a faster process in manufacturing goods, or create many supplements that people need in everyday life. That is why global warming now is occurring now in the world due to all the non-renewable resources that is used and burnt. Production is the major comparison of why using energy sources that are not renewable resources, is better than safe energy
