It took place from 1939 through 1945 and is known as War World II. It is one of the most destructive wars in human history; killing between an impossibly large number of forty million to about one-hundred million. It was such a damaging event that the final number of dead was estimated, but is not truly known. One of the central figures in the second World War had what seemed to be an unquenchable thirst for power. His name was Adolph Hitler.

Instead, under Hitler's control and due to his extreme racism and prejudice and mindset to conquer other lands; the Nazi party was responsible for what seems to be one of the biggest genocides in the history of mankind. At one point, he seemed to be unstoppable. This calls to mind one of the main characters in the book Lord of the Flies by the author William Golding. The character Jack used power to influence the tribe in different ways. Throughout the book, we can see, how the characters behaved and changed throughout the story. For example Jack liked to exert power over others, while Ralph used logic to reason and helped the rest of the boys accomplish things that would benefited the tribe, such as the signal fire. However, Jack liked to dominate the group and at times it seemed he made them serve his own interests.
In the beginning of the book, at the assembly, the boys came together to behave in a civilized and respectable manner, although Jack didn’t agree with the rules at times. Which led to a division on the tribe. Although he himself would break the rules when given the chance. His desire to hunt the pig, reveals a new personality trait, that conflicted the boys. One prime example in the story is when Ralph, Piggy, and Simon decide to build shelters and set up the fire, while Jack’s main concern was to kill the pig. You can see.
