Lord Acton once said, “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” For example, this is shown in the book Animal Farm through the character Napoleon. He gives himself medals of glory so he will have himself a higher reputation among the animals. He also adjusted the rules so he could remain in power and continue to do the evil things he is doing. Hitler is another example of how power corrupts. He first got power when he was made Chancellor. He stayed in power because of his ideas and decisions he made.
