Nothing beats the thrill of breaking the rules, but getting caught doing so is never fun. In Powder, Tobias Wolff reveals that people resort to extreme measures to avoid consequences. The father broke the law in order for his wife not to punish him. Not only that, he motivated his son to be an accomplice in the crime.
