Economic Inequality Essay

Poverty is a major concern not only in our society but as well as societies all over the world. There are many forms in which someone falls below the poverty level such as economics. Society is split into groups in which the main focus is helping the rich. We have upper, middle, and lower class; within each class there are sub categories (upper-middle class, middle-lower class, etc.). Usually whatever class you are born into is the class you will remain in. not all cases are like that and some people end up in poverty because they enter the foster care system or dependent on the government. Some people can also make it out of the lower class, but it’s very rare and easier to fall into poverty then get out.

There is an uneven distribution of income between the separate social classes. Due to the nature of this there is a continuous cycle of living in your social class and never getting out. Based on the statistics and readings of this week it proved that there is inequality within our system and there is a decrease in social mobility. Our society keeps the poor and rich in their place. People in the poor are more prone to violence, poor quality jobs and services, as well as low quality education. By keeping the poverty in their own community they receive poor education and are unable to succeed or further the studies because they can afford it or don’t know how. Unlike the poor the rich had the best schools which guide them to a bright and educational future. Many people will argue that if our society was equal then our society will collapse, we need to have a poor class and we need to have a rich class. The rich feed of the poor by providing resources and services that are beneficial to companies and agencies. Society keeps dominance by placing the poor under a shadow. Society says they are helping the poor by proving aid yet is it really heling because to me it looks the
