Poverty is a common issue here, in Kansas, the United States, and around the world, and it shouldn’t be. Most people use this word and don’t even know what they are saying; they use the word ‘poverty’ the same as they would use the word ‘poor’ and that’s not what it is. They use these two words interchangeably and they are not interchangeable. Poverty is the state of being so extremely poor, that you cannot provide for yourself. This can mean that you don’t have a house, a job, healthcare, food, or even clean water. Poverty has many causes, found in all different places and happens for many different reasons. It also has plenty of possible solutions, if you know where to look.
