INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The magical impact of computer has made enormous contribution to all aspects of the society, people can now do things easily unlike in the past. Computers have lessen human effort in their day to day activities, by reducing both human labour and time in solving their problems which are both numerous / unlimited. The introduction of the magical machine has led to the further growth of agricultural products which is of great importance to human as it provides a means of continuous existence and livelihood to man. 1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The major problem associated with poultry farm is the absence of inventory management system which leads to inaccurate account of the total number of birds, the total number of sick and or dead birds, the total number of feeds consumed and the total amount of income and expenditure of the farm, therefore, making it difficult to tell if the farm is growing or not, until eventual or inevitable collapse of the farm is witnessed. Therefore, there is every need for an effective and efficient way of managing the poultry’s information, which on this note calls for the Development of Poultry Farm Inventory Management System.
1.3 AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The aim of this research work is to take into cognizance, every information that relates to the management of the poultry farms for profit maximization.
Objectives
1. To formulate an inventory system that will ensures that records of birds are accurately kept. 2. To ensure each bird is unavoidably accounted for. 3. It ensure accurate accountability of every income and expenses for profit maximization. 4. To develop an automated system that will be able to record, store, retrieve and generate reports of inventory useful to management in present and future decision-making. 1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
