Potty Training

Improved Essays
Most children are physically ready to keep potty train between the ages of 18 months to 3 years, according to children healthy. Some, however, can show psychological or intellectual resistance due to factors such as anxiety, fear or stubbornness. Parents can use specific tactics to overcome this resistance, coupled with additional encouragement and motivational tools.
Choose the right moment
Potty training can mean big changes for a toddler, so it is important that it is not the only one that is going on in the child's life. Never time potty training with other major changes, such as a move, a new day care or a new baby at home. Allow the child to concentrate only on potty training without keeping the influence of other stressors, as recommended

With positive reinforcement, through encouragement and rewards, much better results will be achieved in the long term. Positive reactions connect the jar with good feelings and happy thoughts, so the child will search for the toilet on the right side and be enthusiastic about her progress. Cheering on the child also shows her that she is supported and part of a "potty training team."
Take a break and try again
After the age of three, children are officially considered "resistant," so tactics may be necessary to change. Take a break from potty training, do not call it for a few weeks and then revisit the concept. Resistance at this age can indicate a bad experience or bad feelings about the toilet or bathroom, so taking a break can "reset" his advice.
Making it comfortable
If you want to override bad feelings about potty training, make the bathroom a place that is comfortable for her. Loyal guides recommends the bathroom with photos that she has drawn or decorating family photos. The jar can also be decorated and more comfortable. Involving the child in this redesign so that she feels involved and proud of the new interior design

I am including this story because I think that what I am going to do in this and the next chapter can be compared to David fighting with Goliath. However, in my case, the Goliath is Dr Brazelton together with all those who have been parroting his toilet training method since the 60th, and this includes the P&G - Pampers manufacturer. When I started investigate the question of disposable nappies, it was the Dr Brazelton’s “dictum” that came to my awareness first and so I concluded, that he was solely responsible for what has been happening to our children since the disposable nappies, called Pampers, were introduced by P&G in 1961. However, I realized later, much later, that this is not how it all started, although the influence of Dr Brazelton in the early 90’s is really the beginning of what has happened to the “politics” of toilet training.…
