I work on the postpartum unit at my local hospital, working with mothers and newborns. Labor can be a long process, these mothers are sometimes in labor for hours and sometimes even days. These mothers at times have little or no family support while they are in the hospital due to other responsibilities, such as other children at home or family members having to work.
