Oral intake was allowed after 6 hours postoperatively, and patients were encouraged to walk after 8 hours. The closed suction drains were removed in the outpatient clinic when 24-hour suction output was less than 10 mL. The wounds were inspected on postoperative days 3 and 6. Postoperative infection was defined as the development of cellulitis and/or purulent discharge from the wound edges or drains. In order to define the postoperative time off work, the patients were asked to start their daily activities when they feel comfortable and convenient.
