Imagine you're entering to your class after a nice and long summer vacation. Your teacher tells you that you're having a test to see how you're doing in that math, english or science class. I am pretty sure that you will not do that well on your test, thanks to your nice and long summer vacation. That is one of the reasons why I believe that a year-round school schedule is better or more helpful for students than having a traditional schedule. to have a better understanding on what we are doing.…

Over a year ago I nominated my accounting instructor for the "ICPAS Outstanding Educator Award" and she won the award competing with faculty from four year Universities, but she was the only instructor for a community college who was granted this award in 2015. The IL CPA Society told her that I was the person who nominated her and when she saw me she hugged me in the middle of the hall in front of a lot of people. She was VERY EXCIDED, for winning, and thankful for my nomination. She told me that nobody has ever nominated her for such an important award and told me that she never though she would get anything like that. I gradated from Harper College in May 2016 and since I transfer to DePaul she emails me at least once per semester to ask…

Field Experience Working as a Para educator in the Mt. Pleasant School District had opened my understanding about how important it is the job of a teacher. As I observed Mrs. Ensminger performed her duties, it has confirmed my conviction that a teacher is a teacher because they do not see their duties as a job it is a calling. Mrs. Ensminger, a level 1 special education teacher, is already at school no later than 7:15 am. Before school even starts she is already coordinated with core class teachers what she need to work on every individual student under her care. First period in her class is Science.…

I think we should have 30 minutes of class because we usually don't get to hang out with are friends because they live I alden or iowa or in the country so if we have the 30 minutes free time we can talk and hang out with them. Also it would give the teacher to check homework or a test or free read. When we hang out with are friends we can play games or talk, and if we are really good they can let us get our phones out and play games on them or watch videos. During the 30 minutes of class we can do late work, like the teachers tell us to get are late work done and then we can hang out with are friends or do other homework.…

In an article titled “What’s Holding Back American Teenagers?” by author Laurence Steinberg, the claim is made that, “Our high schools are a disaster.” Steinberg begins by mentioning education policies which had recently come to the attention of Obama during his term as president. This involved two issues, the first being early-childhood education and the second being college accessibility; however, Steinberg’s article preferred to focus on a third issue: American high schools. Throughout the article, he continually reflected on research from organizations such as OECD, The National Assessment of Educational Progress, and The National Center for Education Statistics.…

    Class Size Experiment

This experiment has a few problems of control in this situation. To begin with, the main problem is that this experiment lacks validity. What this means is that the experiment that is being conducted is not is not really testing what it is supposed to test (Shuttleworth, M., 2008). The reason is that although the goal is to measure the effects of class size on attendance, the grades measured after one semester is not a good indicator of how many people attended class. This test can be thrown off because some students will attend class but will still get bad grades.…
