The Zombie Apocalypse is an event I feel I've been prepped for my entire life. Assuming typical scary movie rules apply: in order to survive I must find a rag tag group of people who are sane as well as very skill at using weapons. To help prevent being that that cliché person that trips, my team and I would raid a shoe store for well fitting, non slip shoes. Next we would wear various layers of coats just in case if we were caught, zombies would struggle to get to our flesh and we would have time escape from their grasp. Next we would travel north and go to a region that was not very populated prior to the apocalypse.…

In their writing they state “The zombie is historically tied to, and has been read alongside, the expansion of global capitalism.” (96)…

The first three things I decided I needed to do were a zombie apocalypse would be to gather my family who were uninfected, run out of town, and find someone creating an antidote. It took checking my phone for over 300+ text messages to realize that the Zombie Apocalypse was real. Shocked. My survival instincts kicked in. Zombie apocolypse or not my mom would still make me go to school. I’ve never played on a team but I crave the thrill of swinging a baseball bat, launching heads out of the park would make it a whole new ball game. If I’m going to hide anywhere it would have to be the P.E. building, considering that’s where everyone else hides when school gets too “classy” for them. The bleachers are setup in the gym for when we have pep ralley’s, with enough spit and grease they can be pushed back to block the enterances. When I’m trapped in a school with locked doors all around me the keys to survival are actual keys, so in this situation a master key is a top priority item.…

In Jeff May’s Zombie Geographies and the Undead City, he starts by explaining that “contemporary zombie films mark a geographical move to large urban areas, bringing the zombie masses to the city and foregroundIng urban fears while containing implicit messages about social difference and otherness”(May 286). I found this quote extremely interesting. If I could fast forward time, and somehow be placed in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, I would chose to be in a more rural or even suburban area. A city would not be a place that I would chose to go if I was trying to survive an apocalypse. I have had the opportunity to live in more suburban areas such as Rochester Michigan, rural areas such as Monclova Township in Ohio, and the extreme urban area of Tokyo, Japan.…

In the midst of a zombie apocalypse the first thing that comes to mind is to panic. Everyone running in all different directions, screaming bloody murder, furniture spewed and knocked over, and paper being thrown in the air for no apparent reason. This is not the case in Professor Kitlinski’s Writing Composition class. We have been instructed to separate into our designated groups and organize our new community in an orderly fashion. Medics, engineers, security, hunters and gatherers, and humanities is everything necessary to survive our otherwise disastrous situation.…
