Thankfully, he did, and he was in a coma for about a week. There was a multitudinous of operations that took place as they removed shrapnel from his head, stomach, and abdomen. They even had to remove half of his large intestine. To this day, he still has metal shavings in his head that were too deep for the doctors to remove. Because of that traumatic incident, he can not do activities and watch certain shows or movies than those who do not suffer from PTSD. At night, my grandpa likes to fall asleep to the T.V.; however, anytime there just so happens to be a gunshot or any violent scene, he says that he is "almost up all night" and he just lays there and recalls the events that have occurred on the traumatizing November night, and sometimes it seems so real, that he "[feels] like he is reliving the traumatic experience".
