Training Post-Mortem
A training post-mortem, also known as project retrospective, is a process where the success or failure is evaluated, in other words, the project's ability to meet the performance objectives and goals is assessed. In order to succeed, there are some questions that must be asked: What worked well and should be repeated in the next training? What should be including in the checklist to make future trainings more successful? Which participants need more training before the next shutdown? In order to evaluate the OSHA training outcomes, there are several elements to consider (Buehring, 2012) (McAvoy, 2006):
Training Planning and Delivery
Alignment of the learning activities to the terminal performance objectives
As part of the training description, there four learning activities described. The first learning activity was a lecture where the instructor provides students with basic knowledge regarding the subject matter. During the class assignments or learning activities, the trainer was able to identify those students, who need follow despite having completed training. Also, the instructor had the opportunity to identify those students with leadership qualities, as well as assess students understanding level, problem solving, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Through group dynamics, students were able to demonstrate their understanding level, self-assessments and peer-assessments skills.
