“Objectives are the elements that will guide our decision. Clarifying them improves our understanding of the problem, and sets expectations for the possible solution” (Litemind, 207 - 2015), consequently within this decision-making process of pursuing post-graduate educational opportunities there is only one primary shareholder, which is myself.
Personally, I have been semi-retired since my last operational deployment with the high-threat security provider Triple Canopy, with a tour of duty in Helmand Province Afghanistan. Since then I have occasionally accepted employment with several organizations providing security for the U.S. military in order to maintain my security clearance. However, I must bring to the forefront that the educational process has been more of personal achievement or a hobby than anything else.
Therefore with the intent of pursuing a post-graduate education, my goal is centered on three primary objectives which are categorized as: career development, minimize expenses and personal achievement.
• Career development: we acknowledge that career development is essentially a life-long educational process; my entire career has been focused on law enforcement, military and security operations in both a non-military and military environments, to include operations in high-threat security atmosphere. The educational process would be centered on fundamentally expanding my own personal knowledge for potential employment opportunities that would deviate from my normal professional abilities. Even my latest induction into the Delta Mu Delta fraternity is mild in comparison to that previously mentioned brotherhood that only a very small percentage of our nation is willing to join. Therefore, a postgraduate education would be a personal achievement that I can add to my extensive collection of military awards/decoration (twenty-four, not including my CIB or Combat Infantry Badge, my Infantry blue-cord, and my Police Badge), and my Delta Mu Delta
