Post Course Reflection

During this course, I learned how to write in more formal format and learned to write in APA format, since I have been writing in MLA format since my middle school. I learned how to use citations more efficient and use them more carefully to prove my opinion and make the audience relate and like what they are reading. Another thing, I am really glad that I learned was how to write my paper toward a specific audience, not just to everyone in general. Also, I learned how to use the WPA outcomes and habits of minds. Which, I found out they are really useful and helped me become a better writer. I think I reached the goals that I set for myself in the beginning of the semester. One of these goals were to write better and

Reflection also, makes you appreciate WPA outcomes more, and they show you how you used these outcomes in your wiring even if you did not realize it right away. Composing a multimodal digital portfolio was really nice, specially that it shows you what you done the whole semester and how you started maybe not liking writing to enjoying it and liking what you did the whole semester and also, the idea that other people can just come and read the work I did during the semester anytime they want is pretty amazing. Since, it makes the hard work and the time spend working on these projects does not feel like just a school work and a class you want to get an A in to a work that other people can appreciate and even might inspire others to write like me or to see what I did wrong and improve upon. At the end, I want to say I really liked this course, I learned a lot of new skills, and I improved my writing skills because of it. I think it was a really fun and an exciting class where you can learn new

This course has improved myself as a writer and has a critical thinker; with the essays that were written I was challenged to ask more questions and see the bigger picture on things and view a subject from all sides. I never wrote an argumentative essay before this course, so this course taught me what it was how to write one and what exactly I was looking for and what I would be able to improve on. I know there is still room for improvement, but taking this course has already made me a better writer from when I started. Writing argumentative essays would help improve many skills as an individual by learning how to approach important issues without taking a side and learning this would also help if a person was trying to prove a point…

Upon my entry into English 1010-02, my first college writing class, I expected to breeze through the course with an easy-A and minimal effort after my successful completion of AP English 11 this past year. I began the year with the utmost confidence in my writing abilities, and believed that my skills were above par. It wasn’t until I received my score on the essay evaluation for my First-Week Essay- a measly five out of twenty- that I realized that this was not the case. At first, I was astonished that my seemingly exceptional writing skills had not earned me the A that I believed I deserved. However, as time went on I came to the realization that I had not put in nearly enough time or effort into the paper to receive more than a C at most.…

I'm not going to do a whole bunch of research to demonstrate this well-known point, because I'm not getting paid at all right now so I really don't care. But I will use my own personal experience working at community colleges as an adjunct in Ohio. The three colleges I've worked at, one four-year university and two community colleges, pay anywhere between 425-500 a credit hour per semester. So, for one three credit hour course from Sept. - December, I'll make a total of $1500 before taxes for the semester.…
