Leadership, as a method of management is just as important in post-bureaucratic era as it has been previously during the bureaucratic period. Though, it is necessary to understand which leadership style has changed. Exemplars of strong leadership are in constant demand and are quickly formulated and described in various forms and forums in modern culture. Whilst the skills approaches concerns a leader’s capabilities, the style approach focuses on what leaders do and how they act. Thorough consideration into the leadership style that best suits the nature of business needs to be undertaken to ensure the best method in achieving the organisations goal. In comparison to bureaucratic leadership style, it mainly focuses on the the task performances by the employees which often results in negative outcomes for organisational members. Situational factors, such as businesses that are capable of which leadership style should be taken in able to achieve positive outcomes for the organisation. Situational factors are important to consider as they assists leadership’s effectiveness in the organisational businesses. Differences in leadership style can be seen in the example of Shackleton during his attempt to cross the Antarctic. He has shown both democratic and autocratic leadership styles which led him to be dependent on current situation. Shackleton, who has shown courage, bravery and dependence, outlines his leadership skills. Although leadership’s effectiveness on individual or organisational teams has changed rapidly through the years, both bureaucratic and post bureaucratic leadership are still implemented within organisations as they are very effective, though with such little employee
