After 9/11 airport security was the biggest issue concerning security. Since Septermber 11th several security procedure have been implemented. One of those are Secure Flight. Secure is a passenger prescreening program. The program was design to identify high and low risk beform they arrice at the airport.. It identifies passengers on the no fly list. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Do Not Board List from boarding an aircraft.. Some of the precedures include, shoes must be removed at the check point, Specific ID required; ID name must match name on ticket. All baggage, carryon and checked, must be screened. Counter terrorism is a big major job that requires a lot of work. It is extimated that more than 130 organizations along with many private companies are doing work dealing with counter terrorism. Right after 9/11 there were a lot of harassment, hate crime againt some ethnic groups. A Sikh man, was one of the first victims of this backlash.; ( Thayil, Jeet (October 12, 2001). Government policies toward terrorism were implemented immediately after 9/11. Many legislation were pass to fight terrorism. Two major anti-terrorism packages were enforced and implemented. One the changes was living and raising money by terrorist was not allowed. The second was dealing with communication intelligence and law enforcement In order to fight anti-terrorism, the Homeland Security Act introduced the the Department of Homeland Security. Now the United States could hold terrorist suspects longer withou charging theme through the USA Patriot Act. Prosecuting a terrorist suspect had no time limit. Airplanes were overhauled to keep terrorist out of the cockpit. Sky marshals were put on the planes, Security now was placed unpon the ATSA not the airport
