The upper and middle classes enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle but as for the working class, this wasn't so. Many factory workers and miners worked for long periods of time with little to no rest in awful conditions. As the revolution went about, many people spoke up about these horrible conditions by giving testimonies. One among the many people who spoke up would be William Cooper. William Cooper was a hard laborer who started working at the age of ten. When he was giving his testimony before the Sadler Committee we learn that the workers received only “one period of forty minutes in the sixteen hours” (Doc. #1) to eat and that they “were frequently strapped” (Doc. #1) Another horrible condition of the revolution was that workers were cramped together in small rooms.
