Voting: A Positive Impact On Democracy

Democracy was founded by the Greeks in 507 B.C. In Greek democracy means “power of the people” and today that meaning still stands. In America people are the ones who have the power to change things, not the president or anyone else who holds a high title. With democracy everyone has a voice and an opinion to share. When the people vote it gives them the power that they have craved. Everyone votes for who they want to lead their country to success. Voting and elections has a positive impact on democracy because it allows people to express their opinion and without it democracy would cease to exist. Everyone has to use their voice because if there was a place where opinions didn’t matter it would be crazy. Everyone’s views would be dismissed and they would all think the same as the next person. If we all thought the same the world would become a corrupt place to live in. There would be no democracy because everyone would vote for the same thing. As shown many times in movies a nation that tries to have a perfect society where everyone thinks the same always ends up failing. There is always going to be that one person who has a different view and goes to change others and show them that they have an opinion to. Closed mouths don’t get fed so if a person is always quiet and never speaks on what they want they will always be dissatisfied with the outcome.
