This is an opportunity that can positively impact the members of the community. We are a diverse group of community members that have continuously earned the support from the local businesses and family members within our community. Our school community is comprised of 50% families that have children in school. The school district will actively seek support from the families that don’t have children enrolled in school. Although we have depended upon these families for past support while their children were enrolled in our school district, much provision stands to be gained by engaging them in continued support. A recent needs assessment for the upcoming May visits revealed that we have several short term initiatives that require attention

Currently there are school improvement teams and safety committees in place at each school. Most recently, a safety inspection took place at our elementary schools and two of the four schools earned a “C” rating in December. The inspection revealed that there was a concern about the time children arrived on- site daily. Since we allow parents to bring their children to school who live outside of district, the number of car riders has slowly escalated. It was communicated that children were being dropped off too early in the mornings and car riders after school were creating pickup dilemmas. To eliminate the concerns and assert safety as a priority, students will not be permitted to be dropped off at school before 730am. We will ensure that adequate staffing is available for coverage in the mornings, assigning teachers for early morning duties. In the afternoon scenario for car riders, we are at risk for our children being hit by automobiles as cars were blocking drives, causing traffic back- ups on the main highway, and overall congestion. To correct this issue timely, we will re- route our afternoon driving pattern to eliminate traffic congestions. This will eliminate blocked drives, traffic jams, and the dangerous possibility of any child being
