Millions of Americans experience a time of uncertainty and hopelessness. Situational poverty, let alone generational poverty, results in enough effects to write continuous pages about. However, I will focus on three effects: weight gain, shrewdness, and declined grades.
First, weight gain can come about from situational poverty. An uncomfortable truth about healthy food is that it is unfulfilling and expensive. Cheap, yet fulfilling food becomes more attractive. And because those in situational poverty may be working longer hours, it is the fastest way to eat.
