The challenges that they are faced mirror a deployment that their mom or dad may have taken in the past or even one that is scheduled in the near future. Just as it is an adjustment period their parent is leaving or returning from a deployment, their children too must deal with the adjustments of relocations. In a study conducted by the Department of Defense; they found that children developed social and or, behavioral issues based on their age group. The study found that students who were between three and six, often experienced regressions, fears of separation and physical complaint. Those children slightly older, were at a high risk of displaying systems of aggression, irritability and issues with adapting to their new location. In a recent study conducted on military students who transferred from school systems out of the area, it was observed that some student had to take additional classes in order to meet the educational requirements of the school district.
