Every human someone may meet in their life has an effect on them. Sometimes that effect is positive and sometimes it is negative. Everyone has their own ideas about what heroes should be. What those heroes should look like or how they should act are part of those ideas. But what happens to those people when the heroes do not meet the criteria? Or what about when those heroes fail to meet our expectations? Heroes may not always have a positive effect on people's lives.

The actions of heroes influence people in many ways. The way they act, for example, may be impacted by those heroic figures. Heroes influence the people, especially children, think (Nakaya). Heroes in video games, like Call of Duty, the heroes are the guys who killed the most people. Children see this heroic violence in video games, and other media, and are more likely to try to imitate it (Nakaya). Though, heroes are not always a bad influence. They come in all shapes and

Jimi Hendrix is an example of a famous musician that people looked up to. He was known for being a “guitar wizard” (Joiner). Hendrix had a tough life growing up. He was expelled from Garfield High School, never to actually graduate high school. A bust of him was later put in the library at Garfield and Hendrix was awarded an honorary diploma (Gulla). Rolling Stone Magazine named him Number 1 on the list of “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time.” Hendrix was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the U.K.’s Music Hall of Fame. “Jimi Hendrix revolutionized modern music” (Gulla). Jimi Hendrix’s first album, “Are You Experienced” shot straight to the top of the charts in the U.K. only second to The Beatles. His career as a musician only lasted from 1967 until 1970, when he died. Hendrix died after choking on his own vomit and suffocating due to barbiturate
